I have been involved with the sport of purebred dogs since the age of 8.
I fell in love with the Australian Shepherd when a transient Aussie stayed with my family for a while, on our ranch in Kansas...he was the coolest dog!
I "formally" became involved with Aussies, starting SkyRyder Australian Shepherds in 1998, with the goal of producing versatile dogs: dogs that are family pets
but are still able to perform the farm functions for which the breed was created--and look good to boot!
Through careful breeding and the support of good friends, I was able to attain ASCA Hall of Fame Kennel status in 2007, and in April 2010, I was able to
earn Hall of Fame Excellent status!
